Mike Wells took this picture in 1980 in Karamoja, Uganda. During the early days of famine. On his hand is a starved boy's hand. With the picture, he won the world press photo of the year. He was in Africa for the save for children fund by the United Kingdom. Food shortages arise in mid-1978 due to drought and plant diseases. 


In early 1980, many were starved in Uganda as a result. Wells later said he was ashamed of winning such a competition because he was holding the hand of a starved human being. Though for the world press photo competition, he never competes for it.

In December 2015, Osama Sağırlı went to Atmeh, a Syrian refugee camp to take pictures of children. He was working with a Newspaper. He took the picture with a telephoto but the girl mistook it for a gun.

 
Osama didn't realize anything was wrong until after he took the picture. He found that the girl was actually scared, surrendering, and trying to hold her tears as she bit her lips.

Then, the police search through the database. It took two months for the app to single out Weifeng as the missing child. A DNA test was run and it matches that of his parents. We can feel how happy they must have been.

The bush has been burning for four days. The bush was intentionally burned by some criminals. The koala drank two bottles of water while drinking, the Koala held out his hand. While doing that his colleague was filming it because he wanted to show it to her daughter. 


Mark Pardew snapped it on his camera and email it back to him, then he shared it with his friend and it got viral. The picture raised more than A$2m (£1.1m) for the koala foundation.
