This impressed everyone including her mother. Since then, he has been cooking with her mother so often that he did not have time to play even as young as he is. 


Then he went to culinary school and later spent 11 years working at Aoyagi, a restaurant under Hirohisa Koyama. At this point, people get to know him for his skills, and he began to give presentations in places like the Madrid Fusión international culinary show. 


His presentation really impressed many chefs and he was described as one of the Japan’s most important chefs. 


He was also described as one of 50 reasons Tokyo was the world’s greatest city by Time Out. He was listed among the 100 Most Powerful People in Global Hospitality on the Global 100 by the International Hospitality Institute in June 2022.

His Michelin honors added to his fame, and his seven Michelin stars awards are distributed as follows. Two Michelin stars for Kikunoi Roan, three stars for Kikunoi Honten, and two stars as well for Kikunoi Akasaka.

La Dame de Pic, her London restaurant also earn 2 Michelin stars. Another La Dame de Pic was opened in Singapore which received a Michelin star in Michelin 2022 Guide. Altogether, she has 8 Michelin stars and in 2011, she was named the Best Female Chef and it is still like that today. 


Her father, Andre Pic was a chef and was recognized for his crayfish gratin dish. This is how she gained experience as a chef even though she did not follow in her father’s footsteps in the type of dish her father was particularly known for. 


She travels to the USA and Japan where she worked with various companies as an intern. At the age of 23, in 1992, she travel back to France and his father train her more to be a skillful chef at Maison Pic. Till today, she is only France’s three female Michelin starred.

He has one Michelin star at The Surf Club Restaurant, another one at Bouchon, three for The French Laundry, and three at Per Se. His restaurant, The French Laundry in Yountville, California, has been outstanding. 


With it, he has received many awards such as the Best Chef in America in 1997, and the Best California Chef in 1996. He had many other awards from James Beard Foundation like “Outstanding Restaurateur” and “Outstanding Chef”. 


He got the idea of cooking from his mother, who was a restaurateur. He actually got to know he has a passion for cooking at the time he worked in Rhode Island as a cook.

This gives him the opportunity to work very close to chef Martial Henguehardm and Roland Durand. Then he studied under Chef Louis Grondard when he entered Drouant. All this brings about his great skills in cooking. 


He has many restaurants. His restaurant, Le 1947 at Cheval Blanc Courchevel was founded in 2008. He also operates Pavillon Ledoyen, one of Paris's oldest restaurants. L'Abysse and one for Stay restaurants have all received Michelin stars awards. 


The Group Yannick Alléno was launched by him in 2008 together with Florence Cane. One Michelin star was also awarded to Yannick Alléno à l’Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo as well.

In 1997, he established Gordon Ramsay restaurants and this restaurant holds 7 Michelin stars. Even though some people complain about his appearance on television as they describe his communication as being blunt and his strict demeanor. 


Yet, he is loved by many for his outstanding skills. He integrates work in the food, television, film hotel, cuisine, and entertainment industries. Ramsay has promoted and employed a number of cooks that were under his direction as apprentices.

He is the best male chef in the world right now. He has many restaurants that he operates and one of them is the Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, which receives 3 stars from the Michelin Guide in 2005 which is the top rating. 


He opened this restaurant in June 2000, in New York City, USA. At the age of 16, he started his apprenticeship at the Pavillon Landais restaurant, and later he also went to Bordeaux hotel school. 


When he finished his apprenticeship, he started to work at Michel Guérard's restaurant and Gaston Lenôtre. Then he has the opportunity to work under legendary chef Roger Vergé as an assistant at Moulin de Mougins. 


He was able to know the Provençal cooking methods from him and this is what he was recognized for today. Ducasse's writing and interests have helped him gain recognition. 


Only two chefs, including him, have earned 21 Michelin stars throughout their careers. Apart from his restaurants, he has consulting activities, cookbooks, and cooking schools which are yielding millions of dollars for him in revenue.

At the beginning of his life, he wanted to go for a clerical career. He later changed his mind when began working as a pastry chef at the Relais de Poitiers hotel as an apprentice chef in 1960 at the time he was 15 years old. 


He entered the "Compagnon du Tour de France" apprenticeship when he was 21 years old, which allowed him to travel the nation while studying various local techniques. 


In 1989, in the guide Gault Millau, the late chef was referred to as the "Chef of the Century". He is definitely one of the best chefs of all time. In 1976, he was awarded as France's best worker in cuisine (Meilleur Ouvrier de France). 


He has written and published several cookbooks and two among them have been translated into English. He has many restaurants in places like New York City, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Shanghai, Paris, Montreal, Monaco, Macau, London, Hong Kong, Bordeaux, and Bangkok. 




In 2016, he earned 32 Michelin Guide stars across all of his famed restaurants, which is the highest number of any restaurateur in history. Joel Robuchon has the most Michelin stars. Sadly, two years later he died after earning 32 stars.

    1. It is really possible. Check their addresses or it might not be all that possible if you are not living in the country their restaurants are, only if you can travel there.
